New Jersey and New York, 1988-1996, undated

 Sub-Series
Identifier: Series 5.1

Scope and Contents

This series includes images of places and events in and around New Jersey and New York, particularly Newark, NJ, and New York City, NY. Included are events, festivals, and parades such as the African Heritage Parade in Newark, the Portuguese Parade in Newark, the Puerto Rican Parade in Newark, and the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Newark. Cities, monuments, scenes, and locations include Atlantic City, NJ; Newark City Hall; the Brooklyn Bridge, the Empire State Building, and the Statue of Liberty in New York; government buildings in Trenton, NJ; Sacred Heart Cathedral Basilica and St. Lucy's Church in Newark, NJ, among others.

These images may have been photographed by Ace Alagna or may have been photographed by staff photographers of the Italian Tribune. Earlier images may be more likely to have taken by Ace Alagna; any images featuring Ace Alagna were likely taken by staff photographers. The images are arranged alphabetically by the city or name of event. Descriptions were transcribed from original housing.

Images are described at the file level: each file contains a group of images and indicates how many images are in that group. Many images have been scanned; these images have been assigned individual numbers, listed as "Image" with a span of numbers. Images that were not scanned are listed as "Folder" and have one number for the entire file, with an E or SG in the number.
