Scope and Contents
The School of Health and Medical Sciences records primarily consist of daily departmental tasks including conferences, budgets, development of programs within the department, and correspondences. In addition to these tasks, which make up the bulk of the collection, the records include the department's mission statement, faculty applications and promotions, agendas created by the academic council, Office of Strategic Development proposal form, planning for various CME/CSME programs, and meeting minutes. Additionally, the collection contains records pertaining to the relationship the School of Health and Medical Sciences had with Saint Joseph's Hospital and Saint Michael's Medical Center. The hospitals' rules and regulations are included in the records along with orientation schedules. Finally, the records contain program overviews for the Midwifery and Physical Therapy programs. Original order and descriptions have been maintained.

The School of Health and Medical Sciences is a professional school within the Seton Hall University structure. It was established as the School of Graduate and Medical Education in 1987. The department's mission is to prepare health care professionals for leadership roles in the professional health care field. To achieve this goal, a myriad of educational programs are offered utilizing a multi-institutional and integrated approach to a graduate education, and the department utilizes partnership programs with Saint Joseph's Hospital and Saint Michael's Medical Center to train and teach students.
