The Daniel Carpenter commission in the New Jersey militia is a single document appointing Daniel Carpenter, Esq., to Lieutenant in charge of the 3rd District Company of the First Battalion in the 6th Regiment of the [Essex] Brigade of the Militia of New Jersey after his election on 27 May 1830. The document is signed by P.D. Vroom, Governor and Commander-in-Cheif of New Jersey, and James D. Westcott, Secretary of State of New Jersey, dated 16 January 1832.
