Father Raúl Comesañas, 1943-2018, was a Roman Catholic Priest and civic advocate from the Union City, New Jersey area. Fr. Comesañas was active in many different organizations throughout his life, including the Union of Cuban Exiles (1980-1990), National Co-Chairman of the Spanish-Speaking Advisory Committee to the United States Commissioner of Education (1970-1973), and running for the 13th Congressional district United States House of Representatives race in 1970. Serra International, founded in 1935, is the global lay apostolate for vocations in the Catholic Church, an organization made up of some 20,000 Catholic lay men and women in local Serra Clubs.
