Abstract

Michael A. Corrigan was the third president of Seton Hall College, from 1867-1876. The collection consists of letters and reproductions of letters to President Corrigan.

Abstract / Abstracto Father Raúl Comesañas, 1943-2018, was a Roman Catholic Priest and civic advocate from the Union City, New Jersey area. Fr. Comesañas was active in many different organizations throughout his life, including the Union of Cuban Exiles (1980-1990), National Co-Chairman of the Spanish-Speaking Advisory Committee to the United States Commissioner of Education (1970-1973), and running for the 13th Congressional district United States House of Representatives race in 1970. Scope and Contents From the Collection:

The collection contains letters and reproductions of letters sent to the third President of Seton Hall University. The reproductions are believed to be photocopies of hand-written transcripts for original letters not present in the collection. Also included are incomplete reproductions of letters: in some cases only one page has been transcribed, in other cases the transcription appears to stop part-way through the letter.

Scope and Contents From the Collection:

The John M. Oesterreicher papers include manuscripts, correspondence and sermons centering on his work in Judeao-Christian Studies and anti-semitism. There is also a large number of photographs, record albums and files on many topics relating to Christianity, Judaism, Israel and Catholicism. The writings span most of his life, with his work with the Vatican and his time at Seton Hall both being prominent in the collection.

Scope and Contents From the Series: This series includes newspapers from the North New Jersey Region that would have been read in the area that Father Comesañas lived. Included are newspapers that Father Comesañas himself published or edited, including La Nacion Americana, El Clarin, and Vanguardia Catolica. Other local English and Spanish language papers are a part of this series.
