Comesañas was active in many different organizations throughout his life, including the Union of Cuban Exiles (1980-1990), National Co-Chairman of the Spanish-Speaking Advisory Committee to the United States Commissioner of Education (1970-1973), and running for the 13th Congressional district United States House of Representatives race in 1970.
