Overview Sheldon Benjamin, MD, is a professor of Psychiatry and Neurology at the University of Massachusetts. During the 1970s he was deeply involved in the Soviet Jewry Movement, an international human rights campaign that advocated for freedom of emigration for Soviet Jews.
